What HoldingsHaven stores, who can see it, and how you stay in control.
Last updated November 2, 2026
The short version
Your records are private by default. Nobody sees them unless you invite them. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
What we store
The account details you sign up with, and the records you choose to enter: people, assets, debts, values, ownership shares, beneficiaries, titling notes, estate roles such as trustees and executors, insurance policies and renewal dates, investments and expected payments, family loans and policy values, tax classifications and K-1 entries, advisors and vendors, tags, document references, binder settings and print history, calculator inputs saved on your own device, and the notes you write.
If you record income ranges or an investor self-attestation, we store what you entered as your own statement. We do not verify it, and we do not share it with issuers, sponsors or platforms.
Please do not enter bank or brokerage passwords, PINs, full account numbers, Social Security numbers or other government identification numbers anywhere in HoldingsHaven. This also means cryptocurrency seed phrases, recovery phrases and private keys — never type those here. For digital assets, record only what exists, the wallet or exchange it is held with, where the device or written backup is kept, and who to contact. The app is designed to work with institution names, nicknames, values and dates, and never needs those details.
Who can see it
Only you, and anyone you deliberately invite — a spouse or partner, a family member, or a professional such as an attorney, CPA or advisor. You choose whether an invited person can edit or only view, and you can change or remove that access at any time.
An invited professional sees only the household that invited them, and the household can revoke access at any moment. If their firm has a team, each team member is held to the same access and hidden-amount settings you chose. What that professional then does with the information is governed by their own privacy and professional obligations.
Anything you print, export or hand over as a binder leaves the service. From that point it is protected by how you store it, not by us.
Our staff cannot open your records by default. If you want help, an owner can allow read-only support access from Settings → Household tab → Support access for 1, 4 or 24 hours, with the option to hide dollar amounts. It expires on its own, you can end it sooner, and every look is listed for you. Outside such a grant, access may occur only where required to keep the service running or to comply with the law.
What we never do with it
We do not sell, rent or trade your records. We do not share them with advertisers, data brokers, insurers, lenders, sponsors or issuers, and we do not build marketing profiles from what you enter.
How it is protected
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored with per-account access rules enforced at the database level, so one account cannot read another's records. Your most private text, such as where documents are kept, is encrypted again by the app before saving, so it is unreadable even to someone looking directly at the database.
Sessions lock after 30 minutes without activity, and on shared computers you can choose not to stay signed in.
Service providers
We use reputable infrastructure providers for hosting, database storage and authentication. They process data on our behalf under their own security commitments and may not use it for their own purposes.
Your choices
You can export your records to PDF and Excel at any time, and correct or delete individual records whenever you like.
You can permanently delete your account and everything in it yourself from your account settings. That erases your records and cannot be undone.
How long we keep it
We keep your records for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, your records are removed from the live service, and routine encrypted backups age out on their normal schedule.
Children
The service is intended for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from them. You may, of course, list children as family members or beneficiaries in your own records.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Material changes will also be announced in the app.
